To make your searches as fast as possible, InnovaCommerce POS includes an advanced product search engine in which you can search for your products using different types of data:
- EAN13
- UPC
- Product reference.
- Product name.
- Default category.
Just by selecting the product or combination of products from the search results obtained, the product will be added to your ticket. You can access this search engine by clicking on the “magnifying glass” of the POS interface.
In addition, the innovacommerce search engine offers some extra functionalities that we will now detail.
Detailed view
This is the default view of the browser.
At the top, common to both views, we have the search box. Enter keywords there to be able to filter the results in the result list. Also, next to this box you can see three buttons:
- On-screen keyboard: Shows you an on-screen keyboard, useful for touch screens.
- Reload dataset: The search engine uses a list of products cached in memory. This is done to speed up its use, but implies that the stock counters may not show the real data (especially if there have been sales on the Internet). To dump the latest changes made to the affected tables, use this button and it will refresh the cached content.
- Button “magnifier”: Use this button to launch the search.
Partial search of the reference If you don’t want Innovacommerce to force a product reference to match the exact search, check this box and it will also search within the reference for the desired data.
Restrict the search to the selected category If checked, the product search will only be performed within the category selected in the category tree on the left.
In the drill-down view you can see the stock information of the selected product/combination in all your shops and also the price and cost information.
Overview
The general view shows a list with the products, the stock and the price on the same line, which will give you a more global view of the search.
Multiple selection: The search engine allows you to select one or more items to add to the sale. If you want to select several rows, use the CONTROL key (multiple selection) or SHIFT (extended selection).
Extra operations within the product search: Through the search engine we can add, edit or delete products directly from our database, as well as make a quick change of their barcode, using the buttons at the top of the data view.
